Onboarding

Post-Setup Checklist

After completing the setup wizard, follow this checklist to fully configure your institution.

Recommended Setup Order

1. Configure Organization Settings

Go to Settings and set up:

  • Organization Details - Add your logo, branding colors, and contact info
  • Academic Structure - Create grade levels (e.g., Grade 1-12) and set the current academic year
  • Subjects - Add subjects offered at your institution (e.g., Mathematics, Science, English)
  • Topics - Optionally add topics within each subject for better question organization

2. Add Additional Branches (if multi-campus)

If your institution has multiple campuses:

  • Go to Branches and click Create Branch for each additional campus
  • Fill in branch details (name, code, type, address, contact)

3. Create User Accounts

  • Go to Users > Create User to add instructors (teachers)
  • Add student accounts - use Users > Import for bulk CSV import
  • Add guardian (parent) accounts if you want parent portal access
  • Add branch admins if you have multiple campuses

4. Create Classes

  • Go to Classes > Create Class
  • Follow the 5-step wizard: basic info, subjects, timetable, students, review
  • Set up the timetable with periods for each working day
  • Assign students and subject teachers to each class

5. Build Your Question Bank

  • Go to Question Bank > Create Question
  • Start with MCQ questions for quick auto-grading
  • Add essay questions for subjective assessments
  • Organize by subject and difficulty level
  • Use Import for bulk upload from CSV

6. Create and Assign Your First Exam

  • Go to Exams > Create Exam
  • Follow the 3-step wizard: basics, questions, settings
  • Assign the exam to one or more classes
  • Publish the exam to make it available to students

7. Notify Your Users

  • Go to Announcements > Create Announcement to welcome users
  • Share login instructions (portal URL, initial passwords)
  • Send the announcement to relevant roles and branches

You're Ready!

Once you've completed these steps, your institution is fully set up on BeamedUp. Students can start taking exams, teachers can grade submissions, and parents can monitor performance.
