Notification Preferences
The Notification Preferences tab in Guardian Settings controls how and when guardians receive alerts about their children's academic activities. Notifications are organized into two sections: Channels (how you receive them) and Types (what you receive).
Notification Channels
Channels control the delivery method. Both channels can be enabled simultaneously — for example, you can receive exam reminders via both email and push notification.

Notification Types
Each notification type can be individually toggled. Disabling a type stops notifications for that category across all channels.

How Notifications Work
- Channel + Type — A notification is sent only if both the channel (email or push) and the notification type are enabled
- Per Child — Notifications are sent for all linked children. There is no per-child notification filter
- Immediate Delivery — Result notifications and attendance alerts are sent in real-time when the event occurs
- Scheduled Delivery — Exam reminders are sent at configured intervals before the exam (typically 24 hours and 1 hour prior)
- Periodic Reports — Progress reports are sent on a schedule set by the organization (weekly or monthly)
Saving Preferences
Click Save Changes at the bottom of the Notifications tab to persist your preferences. A success notification confirms the save. Changes take effect immediately — the next notification sent after saving will use the updated preferences.
