Guardian

The Guardian role is designed for parents and family members who want to monitor their child's academic progress. Guardians can view exam schedules, results, performance analytics, and certificates without having access to any administrative functions.

What Guardians Can Do

  • View Exam Schedule — See upcoming exams assigned to their child, including dates, subjects, and time limits
  • View Results — Access published exam results with scores, grades, and answer breakdowns
  • Performance Analytics — View performance trends, subject-wise analysis, and comparison with class averages
  • Certificates — View and download certificates earned by their child
  • Notifications — Receive alerts for exam results, attendance, progress reports, and important announcements

Guardian Settings

Guardians have a dedicated settings page with four tabs:

  • Account — Update name, email, and phone number
  • Notifications — Toggle email notifications, push notifications, exam reminders, result alerts, attendance alerts, and progress reports
  • Privacy — Set profile visibility (teachers only or private), and control email/phone display preferences
  • Preferences — Select language (English, Hindi, Telugu), timezone, and theme (light, dark, auto)

Guardian-Specific Notifications

Beyond standard notifications, guardians receive specialized alerts:

  • Attendance Alerts — Notified when their child is marked absent or late
  • Progress Reports — Periodic summaries of their child's academic performance
  • Exam Reminders — Advance notice of upcoming exams so they can help their child prepare
  • Result Publications — Immediate notification when exam results are published

Limitations

  • Cannot take exams, create content, or access study tools
  • Cannot view data for students they are not linked to
  • Cannot access any administrative pages or settings beyond their own
  • Cannot interact with gamification, leaderboards, or study groups
  • Cannot modify their child's profile or account settings
